North Carolina Schools Are Among The Safest In America, Study Says

A new national study puts North Carolina in the top quarter when it comes to school quality/safety rankings.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- North Carolina schools are among the safest in the nation for students, according to a new national study.

Personal finance website WalletHub used 21 metrics to measure quality and safety, giving North Carolina schools a ranking of #13 in a national study of U.S. schools.

North Carolina finished with a total quality/safety score of 57.68. Our state was ranked #6 when it came to safety and rated #27 when it came to overall quality, according to WalletHub.

The Tar Heel state was among the top states for student safety, coming in #3 for the lowest percentage of threatened and injured high school students. It also had among the lowest bullying-incidence rates, according to the study.

When it came to median ACT scores, however, North Carolina came in near the bottom at #46.
