  1. More than 2,000 people visited Truist Field on Saturday to support breast cancer survivors in the official 2022 Pink Cupcake Walk! "The event teamed up with Taste of Charlotte to help Survivors, Thrivers, and Fighters in our community. The walk was four laps (1/4 mile each) around the baseball field. A record was broken with more than 2,000 people attending the event," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
  2. Charlotte City Council meetings are now accessible for people who communicate with American Sign Language (ASL) and want to attend the council's business meetings. Recently, ASL interpretation became available. "A city spokesperson, who said the change went into effect in September after the new city council was sworn in, explained this was a way to connect more with the deaf and hard of hearing community here in Charlotte. Donna McCord-Smolik, who is deaf and communicates with ASL, says it’s a game changer," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
  3. The City of Charlotte is one of three locations being considered for the future headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Last winter, "executives and board members from the and consultant Newmark made their second headquarters scouting trip to Charlotte. ... Newmark and the ACC had already listed greater access to prospective corporate sponsors among their key criteria for determining the conference’s future headquarters. ... The community leaders who fueled that record sponsorship haul stood as ideal ambassadors for Charlotte’s sales pitch," WSOC-TV reports. (WSOC-TV)
  4. A man was shot and killed in east Charlotte overnight Sunday. This case is under investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD). "Officers responded to a call about an armed robbery along Eastway Drive, not far from Kilborne Drive, just before 1 a.m. A man was found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound...Police have not yet identified the victim," WCNC reports.
