Police Charge Man In Thursday Night Slaying
Charlotte police have arrested George Fernandez, charging him in the murder of Jamario Lacatria McNeely.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested George Fernandez, charging him for the murder of Jamario Lacatria McNeely, who was fatally shot Thursday evening.
CMPD officers found McNeely, 23, around 7:20 p.m. Aug. 10 after receiving a call to respond to the 2000 block of Pleasant Dale Drive in Charlotte. McNeely was pronounced dead on the scene.
Fernandez, who CMPD believes knew McNeely, was identified at the scene as a subject of interest, and was taken to CMPD headquarters for questioning. Afterwards, CMPD charged him with murder. CMPD has launched an investigation and asks anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, or call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly to a homicide detective.
