Police Identify Homicide Victim, Search For Killer

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have identified a man found shot to death inside a north Charlotte apartment Thursday evening as they continue the search for his killer.

According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report, officers responded to the 1400 block of Ventura Way shortly before 9 p.m. Aug. 8, and found the victim — 23-year-old Samuel Harrison Stitt — with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Detectives with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to this incident,” CMPD said.
