Police Investigate Murder Of 34-Year-Old Woman In Charlotte
Jennifer Renee Smith's body was found Thursday. Charlotte's homicide rate is now up to 27 for the year.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police are investigating how a relationship ended in homicide for Charlotte’s Steele Creek area resident Jennifer Renee Smith. Charlotte Police found 34-year-old Smith while responding to a welfare check April 5 in the 12300 block of Verdant Court. Medics pronounced her dead on the scene.
Police officials say Smith was involved in a relationship with the murder suspect, but no arrest has been made. The homicide investigation remains ongoing, CMPD said.
