Police Make Arrest In Teenager's Slaying Behind Elementary School
Police have arrested a juvenile in the death of 18 year-old found shot behind Allenbrook Elementary.

CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have made an arrest in the slaying of a teenager found behind Allenbrook Elementary, charging a 15 year-old juvenile male for the killing.
Detectives were able to identify the juvenile through information collected during the investigation, which led to his arrest at his home by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. He has been charged with accessory after the face to murder. His name is being withheld due to being a juvenile.

Victim Tyshaud Nikese Brown, 18, was found shot near a baseball field behind Allenbrook Elementary with an apparent gunshot wound in Northwest Charlotte elementary school March 22. He was pronounced dead on the scene that afternoon by paramedics.
Detectives do not believe the incident is related to the school’s staff or students, a police statement said.

According to officials, Brown had been reported missing earlier that morning. “Freedom Division patrol officers responded to the 5500 block of John McGraw Lane in reference to a missing person call for service,” CMPD said. “Officers canvassed the area and were not able to locate Mr. Brown.
Police say this is an active, ongoing investigation.
