In a press conference, police said two students were fighting over a backpack when one took a firearm out and shot at another. Again, no one was hit by that shot.

Recently, CMS approved under $450,000 to buy clear backpacks for all high school students. They're set to arrive in February. The move comes after 21 firearms have been found in CMS schools during the 2021 fall semester -- on pace to beat the 2018-2019 school year of 22.
