Police Search For 16-Year-Old Suspect After He Ditched Monitor

Charlotte police are asking for the public's help locating Ryan Michael Williams after he cut off an electronic monitor Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are asking for the public's help locating an suspect wanted for felony breaking and entering after he cut off a court-ordered electronic monitoring device Tuesday in north Charlotte.

According to a CMPD report, Ryan Michael Williams, 16, cut off the device Aug. 14 in the 3100 block of Passour Ridge Lane. He was ordered to wear the device as a condition of pretrial release for felony breaking and entering. He now also faces an additional charge of interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

He is described as 5 foot, 11 inches tall and about 165 pounds.

CMPD asks that anyone with information on Wheeler's whereabouts should immediately contact the Electronic Monitoring Unit at 704-432-8888, option #3 or call 911.
