Missing Charlotte Woman Located: CMPD
Police say the 19 year-old "showed signs of mental distress" before she ran out the back door of her home around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A missing Charlotte woman who police asked for community help in locating earlier has been located and is uninjured, according to police. The 19-year-old woman was reported missing by her mother early Jan. 17 after she bolted from the family home in the middle of the night after an argument, wearing only underwear.
According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report, Leah L’Shae Kell, who left her home Savannah Creek Drive around 12:30 a.m. after an argument with her mother, was last seen wearing only bra and panties.
“Miss Kelley was showing signs of mental distress in her home and she was damaging property in her bedroom when her mother called 911 asking for police assistance,” CMPD said. Before officers arrived, however, she ran out the back door “and it is unknown if she got dressed before leaving on foot,” CMPD said.
