Police Searching For Pharmacy Armed Robbery Suspect

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man they say is wanted for an armed robbery of a Charlotte pharmacy last month.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the suspect was armed with a firearm when he entered Kaitlyn’s Pharmacy located at 9100 South Tryon Street around 1 p.m. Jan. 20.

A victim inside the business told police the man — described as a tall, white man between 5-foot, 7-inches and 5-foot, 10 inches who was wearing a black mask and white gloves — stole prescription drugs. During the course of the robbery, the suspect also sprayed employees with pepper spray, police said.

He was wearing dark jogging pants, a black and gray fleece jacket, and dark-colored shoes, police said.

Authorities said that a review of surveillance video indicated the man cased the business from the outside before committing the robbery.

“After the suspect arrived, he can be seen outside the business watching people going in and out of surrounding businesses,” CMPD said in a statement. “The suspect then pulled a mask down over his face and entered the business.

CMPD posted one of the surveillance videos here, and said that anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
