CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police are asking for the public’s help locating a man they say is on the run after cutting off his court-ordered electronic monitoring device.

Donlya Simmone Kelly, 40, is wanted for felony breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle, and now faces charges of interfering with an electronic monitoring device, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Monday.

Kelly, who was ordered to wear the device as a condition of pretrial release, removed it July 6. He was last known to be in the area near 315 S. Gardner Avenue in Charlotte, CMPD said.

He is described as 5-foot, 8-inches tall and 160 pounds.

CMPD said anyone with information on Kelly’s whereabouts should immediately contact the Electronic Monitoring Unit at 704-432-8888, option #3 or call 911.
