This year, Presidents Day is celebrated on Monday, Feb. 18. Here's a list of what's open and closed.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Presidents Day 2019 is celebrated this year on Monday, Feb. 18. While it's business as usual for some, there are many services and businesses that are closed for the day. Certain stores and car dealerships will hold Presidents Day sales this weekend and on Monday.
Presidents Day is always celebrated on the third Monday every February and is considered a celebration of not just George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were born in February, but of all U.S. Presidents.
Here is a look at what will be open on Presidents Day, and what will be closed:

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: Open. This day is a make-up day for all CMS schools due to Hurricane Michael closings on Oct. 11.
- Public libraries: Open
- City of Charlotte government: Open
- Mecklenburg County offices: Open
- Post Office: Closed
- Banks: Closed
- Restaurants: Open
- Retail stores: Open
- Supermarkets: Open
- Gas stations: Open
- Movie theaters: Open
