Reward Offered In West Charlotte Homicide Case

A $5,000 reward is being offered for tips in a Thursday homicide that left a 41-year-old man dead in West Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the killer of a 41-year-old man Thursday afternoon near West Charlotte High School and have announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps their investigation.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Nov. 16, police found Jay Jevon Phifer, 41, shot in the 2400 block of Kendall Drive, which is the location of West Charlotte Neighborhood Park next to the high school. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Charlotte police have launched an investigation and ask for anyone with information about this crime contact CMPD Homicide Detective Clayton at 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
