Found: Missing 13-Year-Old Charlotte Girl Located, Safe

CHARLOTTE, NC — A search by police and fire fighters for a missing 13-year-old Charlotte girl has ended after the girl was found by officers Thursday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
Yarelli Vasquez, 13, left her home on Canterwood Drive around midnight Jan. 9 on a gray bicycle, her family told police.
“[She] is believed to be in mental distress and her family is concerned for her safety,” CMPD said earlier Thursday in a statement. “CMPD officers along with members of the Charlotte Fire Department are currently conducting a search of the area.”

By 10 a.m., she had been found. "She is unharmed and family has been notified," CMPD said.
