Silver Alert Canceled After Charlotte Man Found

A 69-year-old man with dementia who went missing Saturday was found in South Carolina, CMPD said Sunday.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Silver Alert for a missing Charlotte man with dementia was canceled Sunday morning after he was located in Cherokee County, South Carolina. Police had asked for the public’s help in locating Harold Manuel White, 69, after he went missing Saturday during a “Walk To End Alzheimer’s” event near uptown Charlotte.

There was concern for White’s safety, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Saturday afternoon.

White was last seen at the event, located at 705 4th Street, driving a Gray 2017 Toyota Highlander with NC tag # VTJ-2588. A license plate reader showed the vehicle driving northbound on South Boulevard. He was last seen wearing a “Walk For Alzheimer’s” T-shirt blue jeans and a navy blue windbreaker jacket, police said.
