South Meck High School On Lockdown Following Shooting
Charlotte's South Mecklenburg High School is on lockdown Thursday morning after a a man was shot in the leg at a bus stop.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- South Mecklenburg High School is on lockdown following a shooting in the area Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.
The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution after a man was shot in the leg near the Park Road Quail Corners Shopping Center around 8 a.m., WSOC reported. Witnesses told the station that he was shot by his own gun, which was tucked in his waistband, as he got off a city bus. The man was taken by paramedics to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, WSOC said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating this incident.
