Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Beverly Crest Boulevard in Charlotte Soar into Earth Day with Ladybug Release
Students spread their environmental wings and released thousands of ladybugs into the environment to improve the health of local vegetation
On April 21, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Beverly Crest Boulevard in Charlotte explored a bug’s life in celebration of Earth Day as they released thousands of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students dressed for the occasion in the likeness of ladybugs, wearing ladybug hats and wings. Students also collected recyclable materials with their families and created art projects from them. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
