Suspect Robbed Store After Threatening Worker With Knife: CMPD

Charlotte police are searching for a man who robbed a Metro PCS store and threatened an employee with a knife Saturday afternoon.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are searching for a suspect wanted in a brazen midday robbery of a Charlotte cell phone store over the weekend.

According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report, the suspect entered the Metro PCS store located at 2621 Westerly Hills Drive shortly after 1 p.m., and began making casual conversation with the employees.

The suspect then grabbed the employee and pulled out a knife while attempting to cut the victim, police said. He then demanded money from the cash register and fled the scene.

Police described the suspect as about 6-foot tall, and said he was wearing a long sleeve red shirt with light blue jeans. He was also wearing a black beanie with writing and gold rimmed sunglasses.

CMPD said that anyone with information about this incident or able to identify the suspect is asked to call 911, or leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
