Suspect Wanted For Shooting Leads Police On Chase

Charlotte police say Bruce Little fired into a west Charlotte house Saturday afternoon, before doing this in an attempt to get away.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged following a shooting in west Charlotte Saturday afternoon that ended with a police chase into another county.

The incident began around 2 p.m. Oct. 21, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say, when police received a 911 call after shots rang out and into an occupied house in the 8000 block of Lobilia Lane in west Charlotte. Bruce Little was identified as the suspect, and was later seen driving a white Hyundai on Wilkinson Boulevard, CMPD said.

Little, however, refused to stop for blue lights, which kicked off a police chase into Gaston County, during which Little tossed his weapon out while crossing the Catawba River bridge, CMPD said. Little was eventually forced to surrender after he returned to Mecklenburg County and was taking into custody by officers on Hathaway Hills Drive.

Sunday, Little’s weapon was recovered by Charlotte Fire Department’s dive team, and has been submitted as evidence, CMPD said. Little has been charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony flee and elude, resisting arrest and multiple traffic charges.
