Citizen Tip Leads To Drug Arrest In Northern Iredell County

James Cedric Turner was arrested and charged in Iredell and Davie counties after a two month investigation.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A North Iredell County man suspected of selling crack cocaine in at least two counties is behind bars, according to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.

Campbell announced the March 21 arrest of James Cedric Turner, who has been charged with a list of offenses related to the sale of crack cocaine in both Iredell and Davie counties following a two month investigation that started with a tip.

“This is another example of dealing with career criminals who are in our communities, and the investigation was a success due to the information obtained from the citizens in Iredell County and the great working relationship between the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff J.D. Hartman of the Davie County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said Thursday.

The sheriff’s office received information from the community that crack cocaine was being sold out of a home in the 100 block of Tab Lane in Harmony, North Carolina, north of Statesville.

Narcotics officers with the sheriff’s office bagan surveillance and undercover operations, which led them to identify Turner as the primary suspect. During the course of the investigation, the detectives also learned that Turner had another home in Davie County.

Turner has been charged in both Iredell County and Davie County with multiple counts of felony possession with intent to sell cocaine, felony sell and deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a dwelling to sell cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle to sell cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
