These NC Restaurants Nominated For Magazine’s ‘Hot 10’ List

These five eateries in North Carolina earned recognition from Bon Appétit magazine.

NORTH CAROLINA — Five North Carolina restaurants have been nominated for Bon Appétit magazine’s “Hot 10” list, which honors the best eateries in the country.

Before unveiling the final list, the magazine revealed the 50 restaurants nominated for the honor. Bon Appétit writes that the nominees are “worthy of celebration in their own right.”

Bon Appétit’s will reveal the top 10 restaurants on Sept. 17. Check back with Patch to see whether North Carolina restaurants made the cut.

Here are the North Carolina restaurants nominated by Bon Appétit:

  • Benchwarmers Bagels, Raleigh. Says Bon Appétit: “Every other bagel sandwich just became meaningless.”
  • Benne on Eagle, Asheville. Says Bon Appétit: “New Southern with deep roots from chef Ashleigh Shanti.”
  • Heirloom Brewshop, Raleigh. Says Bon Appétit: “Serene tea shop, for sake and Taiwanese fried chicken too.”
  • M Tempura, Durham. Says Bon Appétit: “A set menu dedicated to expertly fried tempura: Yes.”
  • Sister Liu’s Kitchen, Durham. Says Bon Appétit: “Unforgettable dumplings, for carryout only.”
