Traffic Alert: 2-Car Wreck Shuts Down Pineville-Matthews Road

CHARLOTTE, NC -- If you’re traveling through south Charlotte Friday afternoon, you’ll want to steer clear of Pineville-Matthews Road near the Arboretum. Charlotte Police are advising drivers to avoid the area after a two-car wreck shut down traffic in both directions and took down powerlines.

The early-afternoon accident also took out traffic lights at the Arboretum, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

“There is no definitive time on the road closure, however it may be this evening before it is opened to traffic,” CMPD said.
