Watch Livestream As Trump Speaks At CPCC In Charlotte Friday

President Trump will be speaking at the Opportunity Now Summit on the CPCC campus, which means drivers should expect delays.

CHARLOTTE, NC — President Trump is coming to Charlotte, and is set to speak at the North Carolina Opportunity Now Summit on the Central Piedmont Community College campus in Uptown Friday afternoon.

That means drivers can expect significant delays in the area, particularly near the CPCC Central Campus.

Trump is scheduled to speak at the Dale F. Halton Theater on Elizabeth Avenue at 1 p.m., according to the White House.

CPCC said the Central Campus would be closed for the presidential visit, but that all other campuses would remain open.

“Traffic between the airport and the central CPCC campus will be affected between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. “Drivers should plan ahead and use routes to avoid those areas is at all possible. Traffic around the event site will be closed for most of the morning and early afternoon.”

The economic summit, which is not open to the public, is a half-day event that includes seminars on topics such as inmate re-entry into society, and low-income area economic development, the Charlotte Observer reported.
