Update: Police Nab LongHorn Shooter

Charlotte Police have arrested George Irving Rivens, who they say shot a victim in the bathroom of the University LongHorn Steakhouse.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte police announced early Wednesday morning they have arrested George Irving Rivens, who they say is the suspect wanted in the shooting of another man in the bathroom of a LongHorn Steakhouse April 6.

Police say Rivens and the victim knew each other prior to the shoting incident, and had an altercation when they ran into each other at the restaurant. The University area restaurant is in the 8100 block of Old Mallard Creek Road.

Rivens was wanted on outstanding warrants for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Rivens was last seen in the University area, say police, who added that he also has ties to southeast Charlotte.
