Video: Pilot Mountain Fire Spreads To 500 acres
The fire is just over 90 minutes from Charlotte at Pilot Mountain.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Just 90 minutes from Charlotte, Pilot Mountain is ablaze after what forestry officials report was a human-caused fire on a trail at the mountain park.
According to Ranger Jimmy Holt, the fire has spread to 500 acres as of Monday morning, and that's bad news because it's twice the size of the day before.
The NC Forestry officials report that it was a human-caused fire but can't get to where it first emerged to say exactly what caused it to spread.
