CHARLOTTE, NC -- Clouds and scattered showers are moving through the Charlotte and Lake Norman region early in the week, but should giving way to sunny skies and hot temperatures by the weekend.
Tuesday, however, will be a day of rain.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Piedmont of North Carolina including Mecklenburg and Iredell counties Tuesday morning, saying that isolated scattered thunderstorms were expected across the region this afternoon and evening.

“The main threats will be from cloud to ground lightning and locally heavy rainfall. However, a few storms could become briefly severe, with damaging winds being the primary threat,” NWS said.
