- The ninth installment of "Charlotte Kickoff Night powered by OrthoCarolina" is almost here! The community always looks forward to this first-class event that showcases the high school varsity football season. The game will be played at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Uptown on August 18. "Our goal when creating this event has always been to showcase and celebrate the student-athletes, coaches, parents and schools that make our community special," Dr. Dana P. Piasecki, surgeon and director of the Sports, Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship Program at OrthoCarolina, said. (Abccolumbia.com)
- A Wellness Fair will take place today at 8600 Crump Road in Charlotte from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The objective of this Wellness Fair is to provide manufacturing employees the opportunity to learn about how to lead a healthy lifestyle. (kiss951.com)
- Clare Short has been hired to serve as the first head coach to lead the new women's lacrosse program for University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She brings one 10 years of experience to the table, including being head coach at Queens University of Charlotte, multiple trips to the NCAA Div. II Final Four and much more. "I am incredibly grateful to Director of Athletics Mike Hill and Executive Associate Athletic Director Ragean Hill for giving me this opportunity," Short said.
