Woman Sexually Assaulted In Early Morning Attack

The 25-year-old victim was sexually assaulted while walking before dawn. Police said her attacker also took her cell phone.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 25-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while walking on East Morehead Street early Thursday morning and now Charlotte police are asking the public for help finding her attacker.

The attack occurred around 3 a.m., when the woman was approached by a man as she was walking. He approached her and sexually assaulted her, she told police.

The suspect also fled with her cell phone.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the suspect is described as about 25-years-old, 5-foot, 7-inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. He was wearing a maroon hoodie and blue jeans.
