• Lake Norman Area Approves Major Mixed-Use Project as Boards Reject Multiple Housing Plans (power98fm.com) — Rapid growth around Lake Norman is reshaping nearby towns, with major mixed-use projects, townhome clusters and business campuses moving forward even as some large apartment plans are rejected. For Cornelius residents, that includes a proposed mixed-occupancy condominium building and significant road upgrades like Bailey Road safety work, all feeding into ongoing concerns about congestion, housing pressure and infrastructure capacity.
• High school football rankings: Who leads the final preseason Super 25? (marconews.com) — National high school football rankings now include Hough High of Cornelius, which joins USA TODAY's Super 25 after an undefeated 2025 season and key defensive additions.
