• NC's I-77 South payback 'pitting neighbors against neighbors': Davidson leaders (charlotteobserver.com) — Davidson officials are weighing whether to support the controversial I-77 South toll lanes or risk repaying more than $1 million and possible future funding cuts from the state. Town leaders say the state budget's penalty language is coercive and pits small towns against Charlotte, and they'll take a formal vote on Davidson's position at their Sept. 22 board meeting.
   

• ECU Claims Share Of 11th At Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate - East Carolina University Athletics (ecupirates.com) — Davidson's River Run Country Club will host the River Run Collegiate golf tournament starting Sept. 21, bringing East Carolina University's men's team and other collegiate programs to town. ECU just tied for 11th at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate and now turns its focus to competing on Davidson's home course later this month.
