Police say the man and woman went separately to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a fight in a business parking lot led to gunfire. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Durham CrimeStoppers anonymously.
2. Movie Night at Durham Central Park with Museum of Durham History: My Name is Pauli Murray Sept. 11 - Triangle on the Cheap (triangleonthecheap.com) — Durham residents can catch a free outdoor screening of "My Name is Pauli Murray" at Durham Central Park on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 7 p.m. Hosted by the Museum of Durham History with remarks from the LGBTQ Center of Durham, the evening includes free popcorn and a chance to learn more about local outdoor movie offerings.
4. SororiTea Durham celebrates Divine Nine sisterhood while supporting youth dance education (abc11.com) — Hundreds of members of historically Black sororities are gathering in Durham for SororiTea Durham, a tea party that doubles as a major fundraiser for the local Empower Dance Foundation. Proceeds will help expand access to high-quality dance education for Durham youth, especially those facing economic and racial barriers, while celebrating Divine Nine sisterhood and community service.
5. Thanks to new evidence, Durham man cleared in robbery after serving time. (caro.news) — A Durham man's armed robbery conviction tied to a 2014 dollar store holdup has been vacated after new fingerprint evidence pointed to another suspect, clearing him years after prison.
