Investigators explain the red flags—like phone demands for payment and fake court documents—and outline steps residents should take to report scams and try to recover money.

The Durham Housing Authority and developers plan nearly 900 mixed-income apartments, significant affordable units, and space for the Black Farmers' Market and a child care center, with Phase 1 construction slated for 2027.

Animal Festival at Christus Victor Lutheran Church on Oct. 3 - Triangle on the Cheap (triangleonthecheap.com) — Christus Victor Lutheran Church on NC Highway 54 in Durham is inviting neighbors and their pets to an Animal Festival on October 3, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Expect an animal blessing, community time, vendors, and activities designed for animal lovers looking to connect with others in the area.
