Today's riddle: What is full of holes but still holds water? π€ (Answer below!)
β’ $12 Million Project Brings Safe Drinking Water to 2 Elementary Schools (cityviewnc.com) β Two Cumberland County elementary schools near Fayetteville now have safe drinking water from Fayetteville's Public Works Commission system after a $12 million project replaced PFAS-contaminated wells. Funded largely by the N.C. General Assembly, the new water lines end years of bottled water reliance, support a broader Gray's Creek expansion, and position the community for future connections beyond the schools.

β’ Spring Lake chooses next town manager after divided vote (fayobserver.com subscription) β Residents in nearby Spring Lake, just outside Fayetteville, have a new town manager after a split 3-2 vote confirmed interim leader Dennis English in the permanent role. Board members and Mayor Kia Anthony described tensions over his limited municipal experience, but also praised his rapport with residents and focus on water infrastructure, budgeting and better communication. The decision follows earlier controversy over firing the previous manager.

β’ A pink cross, a grieving family and a search for answers at Mott Lake (fayobserver.com) β A young Lumbee woman with ties to the Fort Bragg and Raeford area was found dead at Mott Lake Recreation Area, and her family is still searching for answers months later. Army CID told The Fayetteville Observer that people of interest have been identified but released few details, while relatives question lake access, surveillance and how her body went unnoticed. They're urging anyone with information to contact investigators.
