• Motorcyclist dies after crash with Fayetteville city bus (fayobserver.com) — A 60‑year‑old Fayetteville man, John Wood, died after his motorcycle struck the rear of a Fayetteville Area System of Transit bus Saturday afternoon on Cedar Creek Road near Troy Drive. Police say the bus was stopped to unload passengers when the crash happened, and the Traffic Unit is investigating while Crime Stoppers seeks anonymous tips from Fayetteville and Cumberland County residents.
   

• 2 die in overdoses after Fayetteville police warning of spike in synthetic opioid ODs (cbs17.com) — Fayetteville police report two people died and a third was hospitalized after suspected synthetic opioid overdoses Saturday night, just weeks after officers warned about a potent or contaminated drug supply in the city. Residents are urged to take the warning seriously, use Narcan when needed, and call 911 or Crime Stoppers with any information about fentanyl or other illegal narcotics in Fayetteville.
