• Fayetteville sandwich shop on best sandwich list from USA TODAY (fayobserver.com) — A downtown Fayetteville sandwich shop, Pan, has earned national attention from USA TODAY for one of its signature panini creations, putting the city's food scene in the spotlight. Owner Brian Graybill, who also runs Market Square Pantry and Napkins Restaurant, says the recognition is especially meaningful as independent restaurants face tough times. Two other North Carolina spots also made the list.
• 10 of our favorite moments from J. Cole's return to Fayetteville (fayobserver.com) — J. Cole's long-awaited hometown return turned Fayetteville into a daylong celebration, from a sneaker pop-up near the Crown Coliseum to a packed homecoming concert. Fans visited his childhood home, joined special events like Dreamers Ink tattoos, and shared messages collected by the Crown Complex. Local residents and visitors alike said the show helped shine a positive light on the city.
• Fayetteville man arrested after home robbery while impersonating police (abc11.com) — Fayetteville police arrested a 27-year-old man early Sunday after he allegedly robbed a home on Osceola Drive while dressed as a police officer. Officers say he used equipment stolen from a Fayetteville officer's home, which has since been recovered, and no injuries were reported. The suspect faces multiple charges, with additional counts possible as the investigation continues.
