Frisco Campground is still closed under Dare County's state of emergency, and locals should watch for changing N.C. 12 conditions, ferry schedules, and beach safety advisories before traveling or heading to the water.
   

• Dare County DHHS Announces 2026 Holiday Assistance and Donation Opportunities (outerbanksvoice.com) — Families on Hatteras Island can apply for Thanksgiving baskets and Angel Gift assistance at the DHHS Frisco campus from October 6 to November 6, 2026. The county is also seeking donors and sponsors for children, adults, and seniors, offering multiple ways to give or receive help so Frisco-area residents can enjoy a more secure and joyful holiday season.
