• Greensboro Fire Chief And 911 Director To Retire On Same Day (rhinotimes.com) — Greensboro's fire chief Jim Robinson and Guilford Metro 9-1-1 director Melanie Jones will both retire on January 31, 2027, leaving the city to replace two top public safety leaders at once. Their combined decades of service helped earn Greensboro's fire and emergency communications operations national recognition, and city officials have not yet announced how their successors will be chosen.
