Professor of History Damon Akins was awarded the annual History Book Award from Heyday Press for his recently published book, We Are The Land: A History of Native California (co-authored with William Bauer). The press describes the book as “ground-breaking and indispensable.” The award will be conferred at a virtual event at 6 p.m. (Pacific Time) Oct. 28.
