Interested In Becoming A Nuisance Abatement Contractor In Greensboro?

The Neighborhood Development Department’s code compliance division is seeking up to 20 contractors to provide as-needed nuisance abatement contractual services for the City. Learn more about this request for qualifications (RFQ) process during a Zoom meeting at 10 am Friday, August 14.

Deadline to submit an RFQ is 2 pm Monday, August 31.

To start the RFQ process, go online to the e-Procurement System (GePS) and register for an account, if you don’t already have one. Directions for doing this are online here. Once in the system, click “Browse Open Events” and find event #9927.

Selected contractors will assist the code compliance division with abatement of nuisance code violations on private properties and public right-of-ways. This includes:

• Lawn maintenance and mowing grass 12 inches or taller
• Cleaning up lots and removing debris such as trees, appliances, tires, etc.
• Hauling trash and debris
• Removing basketball goals from public right-of-ways
• Draining, disassembling and removing swimming pools
• Boarding up and securing structures
• Removing graffiti
• Pruning overgrown bushes and trees within established landscape beds
• Pruning tree limbs hanging in the public right-of-way
• Grading and applying grass seed, fertilizer, lime, and straw for damaged areas
• Repairing standing water areas and inadequate drainage on a property that has standing water.
