Local principal arrested, accused of stalking woman (reflector.com) — The principal of Wellcome Middle School in Greenville has been arrested on a misdemeanor stalking charge, accused of repeatedly driving by a woman's home and trying to enter her residence. Pitt County Schools has suspended him with pay while the case proceeds, and court records show he was released on bond with orders to avoid the complainant.
2. Restaurant Inspections: Sept. 16-22 (reflector.com) — Pitt County Environmental Health released new inspection scores for 29 restaurants, with many popular Greenville spots like Hibachi Express, Red Robin, and local cafes earning grades from B to high A. Residents can quickly see how their favorite Greenville eateries, grocery delis, and nearby Winterville and Farmville restaurants performed in food safety checks completed between September 16 and 22.
3. Greenville man facing armed robbery, firearm charges (wcti12.com) — A 19-year-old Greenville man is jailed without bond after police charged him with robbing another person at gunpoint earlier this month, allegedly stealing an iPhone and handgun. He also faces separate charges for possessing a stolen firearm with a scratched-off serial number, and remains held at the Pitt County Detention Center.
4. Greenville man held on $500K bond in meth trafficking case (wcti12.com) — A Greenville man is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond after deputies charged him with multiple meth trafficking offenses. Court records detail several September sales involving more than 28 grams of meth, including to a confidential source, and note he has already made his first court appearance.
5. Raccoon near East 10th and Brownlea was rabid; fourth case reported in Pitt County (reflector.com) — A raccoon found near East 10th Street and Brownlea Drive in Greenville has tested positive for rabies, marking Pitt County's fourth case since April. Officials say there's no known human or pet exposure, but urge residents to avoid wild animals, keep vaccinations current, and call Greenville Animal Services about suspicious animals for testing or capture.
