📰 News we're reading
• Hertford officials say $375K sheriff's deal still in place (reflector.com) — Hertford leaders are stressing that the town's $375,000-a-year law enforcement contract with the Perquimans County Sheriff's Office remains in effect through next year, despite confusing comments at a recent county commissioners meeting. Town officials say no changes can happen without a public vote, and they plan further talks with county leaders and the sheriff before any new proposal emerges.
