• South Carolina's DQ Smith enters transfer portal after getting extra year, per report (goupstate.com) — A former Appalachian State defensive back from Huntersville, Ethan Johnson, has signed with South Carolina's football program after a court ruling granted him an extra year of eligibility and a brief transfer window. Johnson, a third-team All-Sun Belt pick in 2025 with 141 career tackles, joins the Gamecocks just weeks before their Sept. 5 season opener against Kent State.
