Huntersville police release photos of car connected to alleged drive by shooting (wbtv.com subscription) — Huntersville police have released photos of a Jeep Compass believed connected to an Aug. 19 drive-by shooting into a home on Seafield Lane in the MacCaulay community. No one was injured, but the front door and windows were damaged, and North Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for tips that help identify or arrest those responsible.
2. Howdy Huntersville on Sept. 19: square dancing, petting zoo, more... (charlotteonthecheap.com) — Families in Huntersville can mark September 19 for a free Howdy Huntersville celebration at Veterans Park, featuring bluegrass, beginner-friendly square dancing, carnival games, and a petting zoo. With food trucks, a photo booth, and no admission or parking fees, it's an easy, budget-friendly evening out close to home.
3. Lake Norman Chamber Business Expo returns next month (lakenormanpublications.com) — Huntersville residents can visit the Lake Norman Business Expo at Huntersville Recreation Center on October 13, with free admission and ample parking. The event will gather about 120 local businesses and nonprofits, drawing more than 1,500 attendees to network, explore services, and learn about resources across the Lake Norman community.
4. Huntersville lawyer suspended by NC Bar; attorney also represents former employees in Mooresville mayor pants-less incident (qcnews.com) — A Huntersville attorney has been suspended for two years by the North Carolina State Bar after sending sexually explicit messages and images to an opposing party in a custody case. The lawyer, Charles Christopher Adkins, must undergo mental-health evaluation and maintain sobriety, even as he continues representing three former Mooresville employees in high-profile lawsuits involving Mayor Chris Carney.
5. Marine Corps veteran to keynote LKN Chamber Diversity Luncheon (lakenormanpublications.com) — Huntersville-area professionals are invited to the Lake Norman Chamber's Diversity Luncheon on September 10 at NorthStone Country Club in Huntersville, featuring Marine Corps veteran Aaron Harper. His keynote will highlight how local businesses can better engage veterans, while the chamber honors Dan and Melanie Houston for community inclusion efforts; advance registration is required.
