Today's riddle: What is clean when it is black and dirty when it is white? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Woman considered 'armed and dangerous' after Huntersville stabbing leaves person hospitalized (wbtv.com) — Police are urgently searching Huntersville neighborhoods for 24-year-old Cassandra Risso, accused of stabbing a resident inside a Windy Lea Lane home and leaving them with life-threatening injuries. Officers say she's armed and dangerous, last seen in dark clothing with a backpack, and may be in the Gilead Ridge area. Residents are urged not to approach her and to call 911 immediately.
2. Caught on Camera (wral.com) — Among a mix of viral clips from around the country, one feel-good moment comes from Huntersville, where children are seen happily playing in the snow during a local winter day. The broader roundup features everything from dramatic crashes and wildlife sightings to school pranks and sports controversies, but the Huntersville segment simply captures families enjoying a rare snowy treat.
3. Third Annual Putting for Purpose Brings NASCAR Community Together to Support Students (catchfence.com) — A NASCAR Hall of Fame Foundation fundraiser brought drivers, Hall of Famers, and fans to Frankie's Fun Park in Huntersville for a putting competition supporting student scholarships. The event helps thousands of young people access hands-on educational programs in Charlotte, many through financial aid. Organizers say the day showcased how local support directly opens learning opportunities for area students.
4. Affordable Medical Assistant Programs in Charlotte North Carolina (allnurses.com) — If you live in Huntersville and are eyeing a medical assistant career, this guide compares low-cost diploma and degree options across the Charlotte region, including programs convenient to I‑77 and I‑85. It breaks down tuition, clinical hours, commute realities, and likely payback time so you can avoid unnecessary debt. It also explains financial aid, hospital-sponsored loan forgiveness, and how credentials affect jobs at Atrium and Novant.
5. Cornelius clears the air on West Catawba tree clearing concerns (lakenormanpublications.com) — Cornelius officials spent much of their latest meeting explaining why extensive tree clearing is underway for the long-planned West Catawba Avenue widening, a project meant to improve the driving connection between Cornelius and Huntersville. The $33.8 million plan will expand the road to four lanes with multi-use paths, but underground utilities were ruled out due to an estimated $60 million price tag and major delays.
