• Suarez earns NCNAYO Princess title (roanoke-chowannewsherald.com) — A Kernersville teen, Aiyana Malea Suarez, has been crowned 2026–2027 Miss NCNAYO Princess, giving her a statewide platform to represent Native youth. The North Carolina Leadership Academy 10th-grader is using her year to visit tribal communities, promote youth leadership and cultural awareness, and highlight food sovereignty efforts across North Carolina.
