• In Lansing, Stein marks Helene anniversary and calls for more federal help (wataugademocrat.com) — Lansing's Main Street is fully back open two years after Hurricane Helene, and Gov. Josh Stein visited town to celebrate recovery and push for more federal aid. He met with Lansing business owners, firefighters, and local officials, highlighted new grants for nearby communities, and urged Washington to fund more housing, infrastructure, and small-business rebuilding across Western North Carolina.
