• Brunswick County sued over mobile home permit denial (foxwilmington.com) — A mobile home developer is suing Brunswick County after officials denied his permit to place a 1982 mobile home on Leland School Road in Leland, a decision he says violates state law. The case could affect how older manufactured homes are allowed into Brunswick County and may influence affordable housing options for lower-income residents in and around Leland.
   

• Accidental cooking fire reported at Leland townhome; no injuries (wwaytv3.com) — An early-morning cooking fire at a Milkweed Drive townhome in Leland was quickly brought under control by Leland firefighters, and no one was hurt. Crews from multiple agencies responded around 3:45 a.m., contained the blaze to the structure, and later confirmed it started accidentally while cooking, thanking Brunswick County Communications for support during the incident.
