Convenience Store Clerk Shot In Stomach In Late Night Robbery
A clerk at the Citgo on South Boulevard was shot by a man wearing a black ski mask as he was closing up Wednesday night.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A convenience store clerk in south Charlotte is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was shot in the stomach late Wednesday night by an armed robber wearing a black ski mask, say Charlotte police, who are now asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.
The robbery of the Citgo gas station located at 5731 South Boulevard occurred around 11 p.m., as the male employee was locking up the business. The masked suspect, who is described as a man wearing a black long sleeve shirt and black pants, forced the clerk back inside the store at gunpoint.
The suspect robbed the business, then shot the clerk as he left. He also shot into a vehicle that was driving by the scene, but the driver was not injured.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said a 911 call was received at 11:17 p.m., and they found the clerk inside the store. He was then transported to Carolinas Medical Center.
