His breakout season now tops 1,000 rushing yards, and he's already focused on finally beating Jacksonville as New Bern heads to Durham-Simpson Field for a key conference matchup Friday night.
   

• Vanceboro man taken into custody after multi-county pursuit (newbernlive.org) — New Bern residents are being urged to share any information after a Vanceboro man allegedly fled a New Bern police stop, carjacked a Good Samaritan near Bridgeton, and led officers on a 100‑mph chase into Beaufort County before being caught. Multiple agencies, including New Bern Police and the Craven County Sheriff's Office, are still investigating the incident and related charges.
   

• United Way of Coastal Carolina Announces, 'Fill the Theatre' Community Food Drive (newbernlive.org) — New Bern residents are invited to help fill every seat at New Bern Civic Theatre with donated food and essentials during United Way of Coastal Carolina's inaugural "Fill the Theatre" drive on November 9–10. You can drop off nonperishables and hygiene items at the Pollock Street theatre or sign up your business as a collection site, with proceeds supporting local nonprofits across Coastal Carolina.
