• The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Auditions Are 10/6 & 10/7 (focusnewspaper.com) — Newton's Green Room Community Theatre is holding open auditions October 6 and 7 for the family-friendly comedy The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at its GROW building. Adults and kids 8 and up of all backgrounds are encouraged to try out, with performances running on weekends from November 20 through early December, plus several school-day shows.
• NAACP To Host Catawba Co. Board Of Elections Board Member Felicia Culbreath-Setzer, 10/11 (focusnewspaper.com) — Newton residents are invited to an October 11 NAACP Catawba County Branch meeting at Mt. Olin AME Zion Church, where Board of Elections member Felicia Culbreath-Setzer will explain voting changes and ID rules. It's a chance to ask questions, learn about election security, and better understand how new requirements could affect your ballot this year.
